Courses in Stralsund (virtual)
your campus Stralsund (virtual)
Studying in the Hanseatic city of Stralsund has a very special charm with its immediate proximity to the Baltic Sea and the neighbouring island of Rügen. At the harbour and in the historic city centre you'll find numerous bars and restaurants that are popular with locals and tourists alike. In the summer months, in addition to numerous opportunities for water sports, you can expect lots of beach parties, events and concerts to sweeten your time as a student. You can get to know your fellow students personally at one of our two annual events, such as a semester kick-off event or a summer festival.
The dual studies programme at our Stralsund location allows you to participate in all virtual courses from home via live video conferencing and to put your practical part into action directly with a practice partner in the Hanseatic city.

WHY STRALSUND?
With the Baltic Sea right on its doorstep, Stralsund is unique in Germany. Thanks to its good connections to regional transport, the city is a popular destination for excursions and has a lot to offer culturally, from the zoo to museums to the largest aquarium in Europe. Stralsund has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2002. Despite its great popularity, life in the city has remained affordable to this day. Moderate rents and a wide range of leisure activities ensure a high quality of life in the region.
From Stralsund's main railway station you can travel within Germany with ease. Major cities such as Berlin and Hamburg are served several times a day. Within the city you have comparatively short distances that you can cover on foot, by bike or bus.

That's what our students say
“The weekly change at IU appealed to me in contrast to the three-monthly rhythm because then there is no rut and you can also build up a life in a city.“
