THE MARKETING PROFESSIONALS OF TOMORROW WILL BE TRAINED IN THE NEW DUAL DEGREE PROGRAMME

Erfurt, 23 September 2021 - IU International University of Applied Sciences and the sports club VfL Wolfsburg e.V. are entering into an educational cooperation to train future marketing specialists.

This means that VfL Wolfsburg e.V. is now part of the practice partner network of IU International University of Applied Sciences, which currently has over 6,000 members.

The students of the dual study programme in Marketing Management, which will start in the winter semester of 2021, will be taught subjects such as social media, communication and brand policy, market research and analysis, and operative online marketing at the Braunschweig campus. The practical partner, VfL Wolfsburg e.V., which is only 30 kilometres away, will benefit from trained specialists and direct knowledge transfer from the university into professional practice.

"We chose IU International University of Applied Sciences as our practical partner because, in addition to the high quality and practical relevance of the marketing management course, the personal advice provided by the student advisory service and the local proximity to the Braunschweig campus were decisive factors," says Stephan Ehlers, Managing Director of VfL Wolfsburg e.V.

"With VfL Wolfsburg e.V., we were able to partner with one of the most interesting partners in the Wolfsburg region. We are very happy that we can provide training in our joint Bachelor's degree programme in Marketing Management," says Mark Eckardt, site manager at the Braunschweig campus of IU International University.

Exciting tasks in high-performance sport

The dual students supported the marketing team at VfL Wolfsburg e.V. with exciting tasks right from the start: In the area of social media, they plan and implement posts, for example to win new members for the club, or to promote sports events such as marathons. The close integration of theory and practice at VfL Wolfsburg e.V. provides the students with excellent opportunities to apply their academic knowledge directly - and at a successful German sports club whose team includes track and field athlete Deniz Almas, who became German champion in the 100-metre sprint in 2020.

The best of both worlds: training and studying

The course takes place in small groups and the students follow the split-week model, with three days of theory taught at the university and two days of practical work on site. Thus, the Marketing Management programme offers students optimal conditions for a practical career start.

In addition, there is a virtual dual campus, which is unique in its form and guarantees high-quality, location-independent studies if face-to-face teaching is not possible.

The Marketing Management dual study programme will start in the winter semester of 2021 as one of four study programmes at the Braunschweig campus of IU International University of Applied Sciences. Interested students can enrol online from now until 30 September 2021.

In addition to Marketing Management, the Media Design, Social Work and Tourism Management degree programmes will also start at the Braunschweig campus in the winter semester of 2021. From 2022, further degree programmes in the fields of architecture, civil engineering, business administration and health management will be added.
