THE FIRST OF ITS KIND: IUBH LAUNCHES FIRST ONLINE BACHELOR'S DEGREE PROGRAMME IN FACILITY MANAGEMENT

MANAGEMENT SKILLS AND HIGH PRACTICAL RELEVANCE THROUGHOUT THE STUDY PROGRAMME

Erfurt, 19 October 2020 - Property management is becoming increasingly complex and technically demanding in operation. Therefore, the career profile of Facility Manager has been well established in the real estate industry for many years ‒ these "enablers" of real estate operations are more in demand today than ever before. This is why IU International University of Applied Sciences , Germany's largest private university for online studies, is launching Germany's first online Bachelor's degree programme in Facility Management . Its major advantage: no matter whether you are in a full-time job, abroad or on parental leave, the six-semester study programme can be completed flexibly in terms of time and location.

The B.A. in Facility Management is practice-oriented and offers future opportunities in a crisis-proof field

"The new study programme offered by IU provides an excellent opportunity to train or continue training in Facility Management while working," programme director Wolfgang Inderwies firmly believes. "Despite the online model, we have placed a great focus on practical relevance when creating the content." Inderwies is very positive about the career prospects: "With the increasingly complex requirements in real estate management, the career opportunities are very good and crisis-proof." Key content areas of the Bachelor's programme are closely aligned with the requirements for programme certification by the German Association for Facility Management GEFMA e.V.: In addition to business, legal and technical fundamentals, emphasis is placed on the practical aspects of facility management. Various elective classes focus primarily on the practical application of the acquired knowledge and methods.

IU is a state-recognised University of Applied Sciences and institutionally accredited by the German Science Council. The Bachelor's programme takes between three and six years, depending on the chosen time model, and starts at 193 Euros per month. Many employers cover part of the study costs, and the fees are also tax-deductible. Find out more at https://www.iu-fernstudium.de/en/bachelor/facility-management/
