OUTDOOR & ADVENTURE TOURISM AND WELLBEING

Other research projects

Project description

The collaborative research project reflects a new approach to understanding adventure participants by focusing on the beneficial outcomes of adventure participation, particularly oriented around wellbeing, as there is little recognition of adventure & wellbeing benefits in extant theories. It builds on preliminary research carried out and presented at the International Adventure Conference (IAC) in 2019. In the next stage of the project a systematic literature review is carried out, with help of the bibliometric method. In the further step the literature will undergo content analysis, and a conceptual framework will be developed in order to outline factors of positive effects on individual subjective wellbeing.
