The dual studies exchange semester at IU International University of Applied Sciences (IU) offers many opportunities to gain international experience.
However, please note that you need the approval of your practice partner for a stay abroad during your dual studies. Before you make concrete plans, you should always consult with your company.

Your opportunities to spend a semester abroad with dual studies
Go abroad with your practice partner company
Would you like to go abroad and work there without interrupting your studies? If your practice company has branches abroad, this is possible for you under certain conditions. Two time windows are suitable for this stay abroad:
Lecture-free time:
During your lecture-free time, you can work in a foreign branch of the practice partner.
One semester on the virtual campus:
Stays of more than 3 months abroad are possible through online studies at the virtual campus.
You will work in a foreign branch of your practice partner.
To do this, you need a suitable offer on the virtual campus and the approval of your practice company.
Study at a foreign university
Would you like to spend a semester abroad during your dual studies and study full-time at a foreign university? This is also possible with the agreement of your practice partner. In this case, you take a semester off and complete courses and exams at the university abroad. You shall consider the following things:
Duration of the stay abroad:
A semester abroad lasts a complete semester (6 months).
You have the option of spending this time completely abroad or at a foreign university.
Preparation and recognition:
Search independently for a suitable foreign university.
Find out about the application process and deadlines early on.
You should have sufficient knowledge of the language of instruction to be able to take exams.
You will receive a Learning Agreement from the Recognition Department of IU - this avoids prolonging your study duration.
