In the distance learning programme International Management, you will acquire essential knowledge in business administration, organisational development, and intercultural competencies, which are crucial in the industry. The curriculum includes topics such as marketing and human resource management, as well as current trends and developments in internationalisation and digitalisation. Six mandatory projects provide a strong practical focus. The programme distinguishes itself from traditional business administration through numerous modules with an international focus.
Our bachelor's programme is modular, meaning you study based on subject areas divided into modules. After successfully completing the modules, you receive ECTS credits (European Credit Transfer System), which document your achievements. These ECTS credits are internationally comparable and recognised.
Elective Modules: In Elective Areas A, B, and C, you choose two elective modules each. Elective Area D: At the beginning of your studies, choose between an internship at a company or modules from Elective Area D. The internship concludes with a practical reflection. If you choose modules from Elective Area D, all modules in this area must be completed. Hybrid forms between an internship and Elective Area D are not possible.

With your expertise in International Management, you can work in various fields and industries, such as consulting, human resources, marketing, or controlling. After graduation, you might work as a(n)...

As an international brand manager, you have two fundamental tasks: brand building and brand communication. The basis for designing all content is a brand and communication strategy, usually developed in close collaboration with management. In further development, the instruments and channels for effective marketing deployment (marketing mix) are defined. Only then can the actual advertising campaigns, often tailored to different target markets, be pursued. For this, a deep understanding of the product world, target audiences, and intercultural differences in target markets is necessary. The role of international brand manager is an exciting position in the company's marketing, at the intersections with management, research and development, product management, sales, service, and, last but not least, the customers.
As a management consultant, you advise other businesses. The subject of your consultation might include the general management of the company, internationalisation projects, or dealing with a transformation process. Your fundamental consulting concept must be tailored to meet the expectations and requirements of your clients, all while maintaining the objectives of your employer—the consulting company.
As an international talent manager, you support the HR department in finding and developing talents and leaders within the company. You plan and organise expatriate assignments and prepare trainees, employees, and managers for overseas assignments and international projects. With a special focus on intercultural competencies, you design educational programmes, succession planning, and job rotation to help develop international leadership.

We make it possible: At IU International University of Applied Sciences you can start your desired study programme - without NC, state-recognised, with or without a general A-level!
With vocational or high school diploma With a general university entrance qualification (high school diploma) or an entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences (vocational diploma: academic and practical part), you can enter our Bachelor's study programme* directly.
Graduates from Waldorf schools and vocational colleges in Baden-Württemberg must have their entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences confirmed by the relevant authority in order to be able to study in another federal state. This also applies if you want to study in a federal state other than Thuringia. Additional achievements may be required. Our student advisory team will answer any questions about this.

*If you have completed your vocational training and professional experience within Europe, but outside of Germany, the university will carry out an equivalency assessment. EU qualifications can be accepted as equivalent if your vocational qualification is comparable to a German vocational qualification at level DQR 4.
