New award for students in the housing and real estate industry. Application deadline is 13 April.
Hanover, 11 March 2025. This year, the IU Innovation Award will be presented for the first time, an award honouring forward-looking ideas for the housing and real estate industry. The prize is being initiated by IU International University of Applied Sciences, Germany's largest university with over 130,000 students, in cooperation with meravis Immobiliengruppe, which is providing the prize money of 5,000 euros in total. Students from all universities are invited to submit their innovative theses.
Creative solutions sought for the challenges facing the industry
The goal of German climate protection legislation to achieve climate neutrality by 2045 presents the real estate industry with enormous challenges. In addition to changes in the regulatory area, forward-looking innovations and new perspectives are needed, particularly in the areas of decarbonisation, smart energy solutions, neighbourly coexistence and a new level of service and communication. The award relies on the ideas and innovative strength of the new generation of students.
Platform for thought leaders
The IU Innovation Award recognises outstanding theses that impress with creative solutions and a strong combination of theory and practice. In particular, the award focuses on theses with a focus on sustainability, digitalisation, social innovations and new business models.
The award ceremony will take place on 15 May at the Real Estate Arena 2025 in Hanover, one of the most important real estate trade fairs and future conferences in the industry. This provides the winners with an ideal platform to present their concepts to leading experts and to make important contacts for their professional future.

Students of the housing and real estate industry who completed their bachelor's or master's thesis with a grade of 1.7 or better in the past year are cordially invited to apply by 13 April 2025.
