myStudium at IU

myStudium is an accredited teaching format within our distance learning programme, giving you flexible online learning that fits your everyday life:

You work through the theory independently, using innovative learning materials and your personal AI learning assistant, Syntea —deciding for yourself when and where you study.

A diverse range of study opportunities help you deepen your knowledge — including weekly, optional support classes in small groups (either on campus or online via live video conference) and other digital live formats.

You can find an overview of all our study locations here. If you want to study independent of location or only want to move to one of these cities in the second or third semester, you can start on the virtual campus without any problems. 

You can apply for myStudies anytime using the online application. Since you can start every quarter, you can start on January 1st,  April 1st, July 1st or October 1st.

If you move during your studies, you can easily change your location. It is also possible to change between locations and the virtual campus, for example, if you want to stay at home for the first semester. 

Exams take place several times a year. Each semester consists of two blocks in which you take three courses in parallel. After each of these blocks, you complete the attendance phase with exams. This ensures that your knowledge is fresh and that there is less exam stress at the end of the semester due to the distributed exam phases.
