Your funding options – as diverse as your future career opportunities

Tuition fees, study costs and other expenses: If you cannot or do not want to finance your education and training at IU entirely on your own, we will be happy to support you in your search for the most suitable funding. We have summarised here which private and state funding, scholarship programmes, student loans, grants and discounts are generally available to you.

Here’s an overview of all state and private funding programmes:

There is no such thing as THE one funding programme or THE one financing option. Rather, you can choose between different options for funding your education or training and even combine them if necessary. We present you here the main funding programmes.

With our scholarships and scholarships from private or public organisations from private or public organisations, you can conveniently have your monthly tuition fees covered. We’ll show you what different options are generally available.

BAföG, child benefits, KfW student loans or other student loans: thanks to a wide variety of funding at federal and state level, you’ll be able to spend more time in the lecture hall instead of being busy working part-time.

Prior learning pays off! Not only does it shorten your study time, it can also help reduce the tuition fees for your studies at IU and make you save up to 30 euros per ECTS credit.

You can claim a large part of your tuition costs for tax purposes and save a lot of money. We’ll show you how you can reclaim up to 42% of your tuition fees and up to 9,984 euros for your second degree education from the state.

In addition to the classic subsidies, we also offer you alternative ways to further minimise your financial burden, be it by extending your studies at IU free of charge, spontaneously taking a semester off or making use of grants.

Targeted funding of professional education and training programmes creates a “win-win” situation for everyone: employees save on study costs, valuable expertise is built up and the entire company benefits from an optimal image.
