Why you should study Business Law

Should you spend a few more semesters deepening your knowledge from the Bachelor's programme or should you get into practice as soon as possible? Only you can answer this question. The extent to which a Master's degree is worthwhile for you depends on many factors. Basically, if you want to acquire specialised knowledge, new skills or pursue an academic career, you can hardly avoid a Master's degree. The additional qualification is also financially worthwhile, as your starting salary is usually significantly higher. Not to mention improved promotion opportunities and attractive career prospects, so that you can start directly as a manager after completing your IU degree. This much is certain: with a Master's degree in your pocket, you're definitely in a better position on the job market than without

Your IU studies in Business Law

In the Master's programme in Business Law at the IU International University of Applied Sciences, you will deepen your basic legal knowledge. For this purpose, you will deal intensively with Competition Law and Copyright Law as well as the topics of Compliance and Legal Risk Management. But the areas of Civil Procedure and Conflict Resolution as well as the legal structuring and management of complex transactions are also part of the content taught. The focus of the IU degree programme is clearly on the legal framework for companies in the digital transformation. In addition, you can specialise further in a selected subject area, so that you can later handle complex legal issues independently and develop legally sound solutions.

A look into the future: what you'll do after graduation

As a specialist with a Master's degree in Business Law, many exciting career prospects await you in companies in a wide variety of sectors. Especially in the banking and financial services sector, you will play an important role at all company levels with your Master's degree. Of course, especially in the Legal Department. But also in Marketing, Sales, Purchasing, Finance or HR. As a Compliance Officer/Compliance Manager, you are responsible for implementing control systems in your company to prevent offences. Or as a Contract Manager you are responsible for contract management and negotiate contract details for the benefit of your company. As a Specialist in the Legal Department, you support the company in all important legal matters and actively participate in the design and resolution of legal conflicts.
