Why you should study Special Needs & Inclusive Education

Your Bachelor's degree is only the beginning if you want to make a career as a manager later on. For many companies, a solid foundation of specialised knowledge is only sufficient for certain professions. A highly qualified and internationally recognised Master's degree is particularly worthwhile for you if you want to take on responsible tasks at a higher management level later on or even sit in the executive chair. However, the additional effort required for a Master's degree is not only worthwhile in terms of your career prospects. You can also specialise, deepen your knowledge and gain valuable experience and contacts abroad. Your future employers will reward all of this with praise in the application process, managerial positions and a starting salary that is up to 20 percent higher.

This is what your Master’s degree in Special Needs & Inclusive Education at IU looks like

The Master's degree in Special Needs & Inclusive Education at IU International University of Applied Sciences will prepare you for the future in three areas: educational practice, management and research. You will consciously dare to look beyond your own nose and make international comparisons. You will deal with topics such as change management and organisational development, pedagogy of diversity and early childhood education and upbringing. This will be complemented by new knowledge in the areas of negotiation, counselling and mediation. As a result, by the end of your studies at IU, you will be able to answer one of the most frequently asked questions: “Inclusion? How is that supposed to work?”.

A look into the future: What you will be able to do after graduating

As a graduate with a Master's degree in Special Needs & Inclusive Education, you will be one of the experts who are urgently needed for inclusive organisational development in our society. Following your Master's degree, you will take on challenging management and leadership tasks in inclusive educational institutions, public authorities, social enterprises and charities. As a leader, you’ll organise joint learning for all, develop inclusive education concepts and coordinate interdisciplinary teams. As a municipal officer for inclusion, you’ll actively shape inclusive change processes and ensure that inclusion is implemented in social and educational contexts. As a manager and leader for inclusion workshops, you will confidently be able to conduct training and further education or set up your own inclusive education practice. As you can see, the world of inclusion is more than just open to you.
