Concept Game Design
As a concept game designer, you lead a team through the game development process. You design game concepts and develop prototypes from them. These simple game versions are then checked and refined. In doing so, you design the content in such a way that it captivates the players and can be successfully marketed. You work closely with graphic designers and programmers to implement your theoretical concepts practically.
Core Game Designer
As a core game designer, you are responsible for the development of game systems and design the individual levels of the game world. You create game design patterns for unique computer game worlds and develop the architectural and landscape design of a level, as well as the appropriate soundscape and lighting in the virtual space. This includes, for example, environment-based puzzles and targeted placement of opponents and NPCs. You also develop economic systems that are geared towards the needs of the players.
Analytic Game Designer
As analytic game designer, you will ensure a convincing user experience and are responsible, for example, for the functional design of new user interfaces. Your responsibilities include targeted monetisation to successfully finance video game projects. You will be in charge of collecting game data and analyse relevant factors that positively influence the sustainability of the gaming experience. You then convert the results of user tests into digital business models.
