The ecological, economic and socio-cultural challenges of our time require sustainable solutions, which you will be able to tackle after completing your consecutive Master of Arts at IU International University of Applied Sciences. In this Master's programme, you will be trained to deal with construction tasks critically and independently, and you will receive specialised knowledge in the areas of conception, design, planning and construction.
With creativity, spatial understanding and an interest in the social and ecological contextualisation of planning activities and the core competences acquired in the Bachelor of Architecture, you have all the prerequisites to finalise the educational goals of the five-year architecture programme. Possible specialisations are, for example, "Sustainable Building", "Innovative Urban Development Strategies", "Preservation of Historical Monuments and Building Research" or "Integral Planning".

Architect in the public sector (m/f/d)
In the public sector, you actively shape the cityscape and let your creative ideas come to full fruition in projects. You will work on various projects and buildings, create designs, work on concepts and draw up price lists for your building projects. Within the scope of property management, you will also be responsible for maintenance work, among other things, with a diverse area of responsibility.
Employee in a planning department (m/f/d)
As an employee in the planning department of developers, property developers, building contractors, housing cooperatives or similar, you will be responsible for the holistic implementation of project planning and development, you will design architectural solutions and check the economic optimisation. Depending on your expertise, you will lead the planning team of draughtsmen, architects and building technicians.
Employee in an architecture office (m/f/d)
You will be involved in all phases of an architecture firm's work. You will be involved in the process from the basic assessment and preliminary design to the final building inspection. Your projects may range from retail, industrial, office and multi-storey residential construction to the revitalisation of existing properties.

Generally, a completed undergraduate degree with a subject-related focus in the respective IU Master's program is a requirement for admission. The first undergraduate degree must have been successfully completed at a state or state-recognized college/university and with a final grade of at least "satisfactory". If the first degree does not include a subject-related focus, admission to the program can also be granted if the student has completed a related professional activity.
For English language degree courses, a proof (TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo, Cambridge or equivalent proof, e.g. through the free IU English course.) of sufficient English language skills is required.

A completed undergraduate degree with a specific thematic focus in the selected master's degree program. Alternatively, also professional activities with corresponding backgrounds can be accredited in individual cases. A degree from a state or state-recognized college/university with a final grade of at least "Satisfactory". Accreditation of knowledge and skills acquired outside of the university sector is generally possible. University entrance qualification as a foreign student applicant.
