The most important economic and social development of our time is digitalisation. Digital technologies not only permeate all areas of interpersonal communication, but also determine our economic activities. In doing so, they not only reproduce existing forms, but also enable new business models that were not possible before. A characteristic feature of this is the consistent use of data. No matter when, no matter where. Data Science is, therefore, the core science of all digitisation processes.
The online study programme Data Science covers, among other things, the areas of Data Preparation, Visualisation and Analysis. You learn to approach Data Science problems methodically, purposefully and logically. The focus is primarily on practical problem-solving skills.

What does the content focus on? The Bachelor's study programme in Data Science contains all relevant knowledge areas such as Data Visualisation, Data Analysis, Machine Learning and Software Engineering and aligns them perfectly. The focus in the development of individual topics is always on practical problem-solving skills. In the course of your studies, you will also develop a portfolio that contains various work samples and scientifically documents the competencies you have achieved.
Our Bachelor's degree programme is modular, i.e. you study based on subject areas that are divided into so-called modules. After successfully completing the modules, you will be credited with ECTS points (European Credit Transfer System), which document your achievements. These ECTS points are internationally comparable and, of course, recognised.

The Bachelor's study programme in Data Science offers many fields of activity, e.g. in engineering or consulting. Our programmes also combine cutting-edge lectures with industry-leading best practice and allow you to further your career abroad. After graduation, you will be able to work, for example, as a ...

As an expert, you know how to correctly evaluate the flood of digital information and data - regardless of the end device. The goal is to filter out exactly the data that provides the customer with important information and figures so that they can derive trends and customer needs for their market from it. To achieve this, data must not only be collected and visualised, but also correctly interpreted. Strategic consulting is therefore one of the traits of a digital analytics consultant.
As a data engineer, you take care of all relevant processes related to the generation, storage, maintenance, processing, and dissemination of data. The development and monitoring of the hardware and software infrastructure are crucial. This includes designing, purchasing, and setting up all the necessary components that are appropriate for the respective requirements. Furthermore, as a data expert, you are responsible for the security and stability of the entire system as well as compliance with data protection and data security.
As a data scientist, you systematically evaluate data and extract knowledge. Based on your findings, you support the company management, especially in strategic decisions. You also know how to present your knowledge clearly and communicate it to third parties without specific technical knowledge. Data scientists usually act in an advisory capacity and provide support in difficult situations. With your know-how, you are an expert, especially in the area of business intelligence and big data.
