DO SOMETHING BIG. STUDY CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGEMENT.
The planning and realisation of large industrial installations, buildings, and real estate are becoming increasingly complex. As a project manager, you always have to consider not only aesthetic aspects but also compliance with key standards in terms of sustainability and cost-effectiveness. The Bachelor's Degree Programme in Construction Project Management at IU University offers all the necessary structural and commercial knowledge. These skills will be a key tool when starting a career as a construction manager, planning coordinator, or consultant in the fields of project development, real estate management, or general planning.
The IU Bachelor's Programme in Construction Project Management gives you a comprehensive basic knowledge in the field of project planning and control of execution processes. Furthermore, you can define your professional priorities by specialising in areas such as smart building, real estate law, or general planning.

As a planning coordinator, you are responsible for implementing risk prevention measures in construction. You implement general regulations and are responsible for coordinating them as early as during their drafting. You put together a detailed health and safety plan and make sure it is observed by the construction client. As an expert, you support the construction project well in advance by creating and distributing briefings and preliminary information. You are a key person for the project from start to finish.
Project developers play an important role in the real estate industry. One of their core tasks is the management of real estate projects in several stages: from the property search to the handover to the user or investor. As a project developer, you are also responsible for the conception, project costing, reviews of building laws, and the search for tenants or buyers. Entrepreneurial thinking and creativity are just as important in your role as communication skills to successfully navigate the building industry as an expert.
As a construction manager you are an important mediator between the client and the contractor. Your tasks include, among other things, management of all activities during the planning and implementation of a construction project. In contrast to industrial manufacturing, construction is primarily about producing a unique item. That is why one of your strengths is to be able to implement every construction project following the client’s wishes and the existing framework conditions. In complex projects with a lot of different participants, it is also important that you can quickly take on management and coordination duties.
