BIG DATA SCIENTIST
As a big data scientist, you will work at the interface between computer science, mathematics, management and statistics. Your goal is to use the data collected by your company as profitably as possible. You are not only responsible for the evaluation of the data, but also put it into a business context.
BIG DATA ENGINEER
The tasks of a big data engineer are very diverse. In general terms, they take care of all processes related to the generation, storage, maintenance, preparation, enrichment and dissemination of data. An important aspect of this is the construction and monitoring of the hardware and software infrastructure. It starts with the conception, purchase and installation of all necessary components and ends with the decision as to which software and which services are to be used.
As a BI (Business Intelligence) consultant, you prepare data, transform it and make it analysable. In this way, you can recognise trends, analyse customer behaviour and provide a sound basis for your company's future decisions. You act as a link between IT and the respective departments.

Generally, a completed undergraduate degree with a subject-related focus in the respective IU Master's program is a requirement for admission. The first undergraduate degree must have been successfully completed at a state or state-recognized college/university and with a final grade of at least "satisfactory". If the first degree does not include a subject-related focus, admission to the program can also be granted if the student has completed a related professional activity.
For English language degree courses, a proof (TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo or Cambridge) of sufficient English language skills is required. Evidence of at least one year of qualifying professional experience is also required at the beginning of the degree course (This proof must be obtained after the completion of the undergraduate degree.)

The qualifying examination regulationss also standardise the qualifying examinations for applicants who do not have the required ECTS points (240 CP for the Master 60 CP and 210 CP for the Master 90 CP) from their previous studies.

Alternatively, also professional activities with corresponding backgrounds can be accredited in individual cases.
