What NC do I need to study Education and Inclusion?

You don't need a specific Numerus Clausus (NC) to study at IU. We also have no strenuous selection process or waiting semesters, as none of our programmes require an NC. Instead, we prefer to get to know you personally and discuss where your talents and strengths lie. This approach helps you achieve your individual goals. In this programme, you start with the fourth semester, as the first three semesters are recognised due to a completed training as a 'Heilerziehungspfleger:in'.

In which city can I study Education and Inclusion?

You can study the bachelor Education and Inclusion completely independently and with 100% flexibility. Thanks to the virtual learning format with interactive online courses, your IU studies can be completed entirely independent of time and location.

Can I study Education and Inclusion without A-levels?

Yes, we also make that possible at IU. In addition to entry qualifications such as A-levels or advanced technical college entrance qualifications, applicants without A-levels also have the chance to enter our bachelor's programme. You can study Education and Inclusion without A-levels if you have completed an advanced training programme, hold a master's certificate, or have completed at least a two-year vocational training and subsequently at least three years of professional experience.

How long does the Education and Inclusion programme take?

The bachelor Education and Inclusion takes 18, 24, or 36 months, depending on the time model you choose. If you need more time and semesters for your studies, that's absolutely no problem.

You have the chance to set your individual focus through four elective modules, further educating yourself in areas such as Digital Skills, Diversity Management, or family education.

Please note that upon completing the bachelor's programme „Heilpädagogik und Inklusion“, you will not receive the title “State-recognised special needs educator” according to the Thuringian Social Professions Recognition Act (ThürSozAnerkG). If you wish to obtain state recognition as a special needs educator, you must complete the bachelor's programme in „Heilpädagogik“ including a recognition internship.
