Armin Grasnick is a professor of AR & VR and head of the study program AR/VR/XR Development & Design at IU. After studying technical optics, he began his professional career as a research assistant for the design of high-performance lenses. During New Economy, he became self-employed with a start-up for the development of 3D displays and subsequently founded other companies with a 3D/VR focus in Germany and abroad. Thanks to a previous project at Toshiba Medical Systems, Armin has experience in the development of 3D applications for ultrasound devices.

Professor Physician Assistant, Department Health & Social
Christian G. Erker is a professor in the “Physician Assistant (B.Sc.)” program at IU. He is passionate about innovative and student-centered teaching, especially on topics such as anesthesiology and emergency medicine.
He holds specialist qualifications in anesthesiology and pediatrics as well as numerous qualifications with a focus on emergency and intensive care medicine. He has received in-depth training in ultrasound, including the DGAI certificate “Anästhesie-fokussierte Sonographie”
Dr. Sheikh Radiah Rahim Rivu

Sheikh Radiah Rahim Rivu is an Academic Lecturer & Research Scientist at IU. She completed her master’s in computer science from Technical University München (TUM). She then continued her research career in joint-collaboration with LMU and Bundeswehr University. In 2022, she completed her PhD in the domain of Out-of-Lab Virtual Reality Studies (Human Computer Interaction). She has published over 25 peer-reviewed scientific articles in HCI sub-areas (XR technology, Emotions and Psychology in VR). After her PhD she joined IU and continues to teach in aforementioned areas.
Dr.-Ing. Ali Mehmood Khan
Academic Lecturer & Research Scientist, Department IT & Engineering, Extended Artificial Intelligence
Ali Mehmood Khan is an Academic Lecturer & Research Scientist at IU. He did his master’s in computer sciences from Bremen university. Later he worked as a Research associate (WiMi) at Bremen university for more than five years. He had been involved in publicly funded projects which were in the domain of e-Health, Industry 4.0 and IoT. He completed his PhD in the domain of Wearable computing (Human Computer Interaction). He wrote more than 20 scientific articles (including journals, conference papers and book chapters) in the domain of Machine learning, HCI, e-Health, serious games etc.
