Business English is part of the dual degree programme in Human Resource Management. Accordingly, you should already have a good command of English. Other foreign language skills are not a prerequisite for this dual degree programme, but they are of course an advantage if you would like to work internationally later on or if your practice partner is an international company. 

We support you in finding your practice partner and have access to our large network of companies. But of course, you increase your chances of finding the perfect practice partner quickly if you search on your own initiative. Here, too, you have the advantage that all larger companies have a human resources department. Your student advisor will explain the procedure to you and support you every step of the way. There are no specific requirements for the company - it just has to be open to offering you training and providing a supervisor as a contact person for you and IU.

After graduation, you have excellent career prospects, because every medium-sized to large company depends on good Human Resource Management. That's why you'll find jobs in the human resources departments of every industry. The shortage of skilled workers in many industries increases the demand for good personnel managers. Since you will naturally have a lot to do with people in human resources work, you should enjoy working with people, have strong communication skills and knowledge of human nature, and be assertive and able to deal with conflicts. Professional experience and experience abroad are advantageous for the dual degree programme in Human Resource Management. Business administration and legal topics are also part of the programme, so you should also have an interest in these areas.

Attendance is compulsory for lectures and seminars. This is recorded on corresponding attendance lists.

As a student at IU Duales Studium in Germany, you are generally entitled to BAföG. You can find out whether you fulfil the relevant requirements on the official BAföG website.

Durch das neue Studium Generale im Wahlpflichtbereich C hast du eine freie Auswahl aus allen Fernstudium-Modulen. Diese absolvierst Du komplett im Fernstudium. Dadurch hast Du eine höhere Flexibilität bei der Wahl Deiner Praxis- und Theorietage. Durch die freie Gestaltung des letzten Semesters kannst Du Dich weiter spezialisieren und so für bessere Übernahmechancen sorgen. Außerdem erhöhen sich Deine ECTS-Punkte von 180 auf 210, was die Wahl eines anschließenden Masterstudiengangs vereinfacht.
