The IU master’s programme in IT Management follows a very individual concept. First and foremost, you will be taught methodical and analytical skills to be able to critically assess the advantages and disadvantages of IT concerning business processes. Also, your curriculum includes topics such as the goal-oriented implementation of IT systems, recruitment and management of IT personnel and strategic corporate development. You will also be able to specialise in selected areas such as business intelligence, cybercrime or robotics 4.0.

As an IT consultant, you work in the IT industry as an external consultant for companies in industry, retail, and trade, or public service organisations. Your tasks include the technical and economic analysis of IT projects and their implementation. You carry out quality controls, identify deficiencies or weaknesses in IT, propose solutions, and take care of their implementation.
IT Project Manager
As an IT project manager, you are the human interface between application development and users. You plan, organise, and manage IT projects. You also coordinate all employees, departments, and external service providers that are involved. During the implementation phase, you always keep an eye on both the schedule and the budget. You work to achieve the most efficient use of the available resources.
IT Security Manager
As an IT security manager, you take on the implementation and planning of measures to fight criminal attacks on internal company data. You take a holistic approach that includes prevention, active search and closure of existing security gaps, and planning of defence strategies in the event of a hack or similar emergency. In both cases, you document your work and inform the management of the progress, problems, and planned procedure.

Generally, a completed undergraduate degree with a subject-related focus in the respective IU Master's program is a requirement for admission. The first undergraduate degree must have been successfully completed at a state or state-recognized college/university and with a final grade of at least "satisfactory". If the first degree does not include a subject-related focus, admission to the program can also be granted if the student has completed a related professional activity.
For English language degree courses, a proof (TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo, Cambridge or equivalent proof, e.g. through the free IU English course.) of sufficient English language skills is required.

A completed undergraduate degree with a specific thematic focus in the selected master's degree program. Alternatively, also professional activities with corresponding backgrounds can be accredited in individual cases. A degree from a state or state-recognized college/university with a final grade of at least "Satisfactory". Accreditation of knowledge and skills acquired outside of the university sector is generally possible. University entrance qualification as a foreign student applicant.
