WHAT IS A DEUTSCHLANDSTIPENDIUM?

With the Deutschlandstipendium, the federal government supports particularly talented and capable students.

The scholarship amounts to 300 euros per month.

150 euros of this amount are paid by the federal government.
150 euros are contributed by private sponsors – for example, business enterprises, foundations, associations or other private individuals.


IU has awarded a total of 94 German Scholarships to students from all study models for the summer semester of 2021.
The next application phase for the German Scholarship at IU International University of Applied Sciences for the summer semester of 2022 will take place from 1 December 2021 to 1 February 2022 (23:59, deadline).


WHAT IS ELIGIBLE FOR FUNDING?

In addition to first degree programmes, second or supplementary degree programmes, as well as Master's degree programmes, are also eligible for funding. Funding is available to students who are enrolled at IU or who will enrol in the semester following their application. For distance learning and part-time studies – parallel to the start of the Campus Studies and dual degree programmes - the start date for the scholarship is 01 April or 01 October. The scholarship holder must be registered as a student at IU during the funding period. Students must provide proof of enrolment.

WHO CAN APPLY:

  • INTERESTED PERSONS

    who will enrol at IU in the semester following the application (1.4./1.10.) and can demonstrate excellent performance.       

  • STUDENTS

    in their first or second semester who are enrolled based on professional qualifications and can present relevant degree certificates.    

  • BACHELOR AND MASTER STUDENTS

    from the third semester onwards who have achieved outstanding results during their studies so far.

  • BACHELOR'S STUDENTS OF IU

    who are in their first or second semester and have an excellent grade point average in their A-levels.

  • MASTER'S STUDENTS OF IU

    who are in their first or second semester and have an outstanding grade point average in their Bachelor's degree.

SELECTION CRITERIA

APPLICATION DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED

  • Letter of motivation of no more than 2 pages, in which in particular the personal career and personal objectives, special social or personal circumstances, as well as social commitment and willingness to take on responsibility are explained
  • Curriculum vitae in tabular form
  • Certificate of higher education entrance qualification - in the case of foreign certificates, a translation in accordance with the German system and grade conversion into the German grade system
  • If applicable, proof of an aptitude test of IU International University of Applied Sciences
  • If applicable, Bachelor's degree certificate or diploma certificate (for applicants in the Master's programme)
  • If applicable, proof of examinations and achievements to date (ECTS points and evaluations)
  • If applicable, internship and work references
  • Proof of special awards and prizes, if applicable
  • If applicable, evidence of circumstances within the meaning of § 2 Para. 1 and 2 of the IU International University of Applied Sciences Guidelines (relating to the performance records as well as extracurricular or extracurricular involvement and special personal or family circumstances).
  • If applicable, proof of enrolment at IU International University of Applied Sciences

Certificates, awards and other achievements (e.g. active participation in projects/associations) can only be recognised and evaluated if they can be supported by documentary evidence.

NEXT STEPS

If your application is shortlisted, we will request officially certified certificates and translations by post if they have not already been submitted to us with your enrolment. You will not receive any confirmation of receipt of your application and no feedback as to whether any documents are missing. Applications not submitted in due time and form will not be considered.

Incorrect information in the application procedure will lead to immediate exclusion from the award procedure. Scholarship holders are selected by the representatives appointed by the university based on the documents submitted in due form and time. Approval or rejection will be notified by e-mail.

LEGAL BASIS & DATA PROTECTION INFORMATION

The legal basis of the German Scholarship Programme is the Act on the Creation of a National Scholarship Programme (Stipendienprogramm-Gesetz - StipG) of 21 July 2010 and the Ordinance on the Implementation of the Scholarship Programme Act (Stipendienprogramm-Verordnung – StipV) of 20 December 2010. To award German Scholarships, it is necessary to collect and process personal data from applicants and to store it for this purpose.

We are moving

From 01st March the virtual campus of the part-time studies programme is part of the IU distance learning programme and then takes place in this new environment. Nothing else will change for you: You will also benefit from interactive courses via video chat, smart online teaching and the exchange with lecturers and students.
