In order to meet the IU admission requirements for on-campus studies, you’ll need to first choose your on-campus study programme. The requirements differ depending on your programme and its ECTS credits model.
Some programmes need previous professional experience, and others need a previous degree in a relevant field or a secondary school diploma. When looking at the study programme page you’re interested in, scroll over to or click on the ‘Admission’ section. That’s where you’ll find in-depth information on the academic requirements you need to fulfil when applying.
In case you need a visa to study in Germany, or an APS certificate (required for students from India, China and Vietnam), know that you will need to have an official acceptance letter from us before you can apply for these documents. We can connect you with our partner, who will support your visa application process free of charge. To learn more about this, visit VFS Global Education Services.
Don’t worry if you don’t meet all the admission criteria. Contact our Study Advisory Team, who will offer solutions on a case-by-case basis, and help you apply to the right Bachelor’s or Master’s study programme for you.
Here’s a list of what you’ll need to start your studies with IU. You can find our admissions policy here.

If the interview is not passed, admission screeners will review the reasons and provide recommendations for next steps.
