But medical technology has also continuously developed in the diagnostic field, always with the aim of improving the quality of life of those affected. With your degree in engineering management and medical technology, you will ensure healthy development at all levels.
During your studies, you will receive an optimal mix of digital know-how, materials science and medicine. At the same time, you will acquire a high level of methodological competence in the areas of development, manufacturing and product management of medical devices. Your curriculum takes into account the recommendations of the VWI (Association of German Industrial Engineers). Your focus will be on medical technology content - especially the process technologies used there for therapeutic or diagnostic systems. Your degree in engineering management and medical technology has one main goal: to develop and manage successful and innovative medical devices using, of course, innovative design thinking and prototyping methods and with the knowledge of IT and software tools specifically used for this purpose. Do you want to specialise during your studies? No problem! Modules such as biosignal acquisition and processing, user interface design, control engineering, service robots, big data, business consulting, international marketing and much more are available.

With your Bachelor's degree in Engineering Management and Medical Technology, you will be significantly involved in the success of medical products. Accordingly, you will be in great demand, especially among manufacturers of diagnostic or therapeutic medical products. For example, you may become:
Process Engineer of medical devices
You will play a key role in designing processes for the development of new medical devices. You will create technical concepts and requirement specifications. You will coordinate the CE approval procedures and take into account the Medical Devices Regulation of the European Union. If you do your job well, you can aim for a management position in the medium term.
Product Consultant
Here, you will directly in product management and ensure that the medical devices reach the market. You will plan and control the product development process. You will often create product information and instructions for use from a quality management perspective. In many cases, you will be responsible for product training and presentations and you will advise customers, for example, at trade fairs and symposiums.
Clinical application specialist
In this professional field, you will have to develop an IT focus. You will be responsible for advising, introducing and training medical applications. These include, for example, hospital information systems, clinical monitoring systems or medical imaging. In close cooperation with experts and the sales team, you will take part in events, training courses and symposiums.
