Pay your tuition fees in advance
Depending on the IU study model you choose, you can receive up to 10% off if you pay your entire tuition fees upfront. You can easily select this option during your online application under the “Payment method” section.
Discount for IU alumni
We offer a 15% discount and additional reductions of up to €2,000 to alumni of IU International University of Applied Sciences.

Simply extend your studies at IU – free of charge, of course!
A job change here, a move there, a wedding or family planning: life can be so full of diversity that it is hard to plan firmly for years to come. To make sure that our degree programme still suits you, we have designed it to be as flexible as possible and offer you the possibility to extend your studies beyond the standard period of study free of charge.
If the standard study period is not sufficient, you can extend it by further 12 months free of charge.

Yes, absolutely you can do that. After your free extension, you have the option to continue your studies for a fee. The monthly cost for this extension will match your regular monthly tuition fees.
Have prior achievements recognised and reduce your tuition fees

Semester break
Did you know? A semester break at IU is completely free of charge.
Sometimes you just need a break—time for yourself, your family, travel, or to recharge. At IU, you can easily take a semester off without any fees. You decide when you need a pause—whatever the reason. During your break, you don't pay any tuition fees and can simply continue your studies afterwards. This way, your studies stay flexible—and you set the pace.
In principle, leave of absence or exeat is only possible from the second semester onwards. In the first semester, you can only apply for a leave of absence or an exeat if the cause for the leave occurred after enrolment and was not foreseeable for you beforehand. You can find the application for a free break semester in the Care study portal under Application Management.
The period you apply for must cover a full semester of 6 months, and you need to submit your request at least two weeks before your desired start date. You can complete and upload the application in the Care student portal under Studies/Application Management. Please note that you cannot cancel your study contract during your semester break. - Generated by Syntea
You can only apply for a break semester for one semester at a time. You can apply for leave of absence/exeat several times, but not for more than half of your chosen standard study period. In some individual cases, the upper limit can be extended, however there must be an important reason for the extension.
You cannot write any exams during your break semester. Your access to myCampus will be disabled for this period. Course registrations are therefore not possible. Your studies will be paused, so to speak.
The break semester lasts for 6 months and cannot be terminated prematurely. You cannot resume your studies during this time. The duration of the requested break semester must be respected.
