Conference Chairman Prof Dr Richard C. Geibel on AI and the ISPC conference:
The digital transformation is developing rapidly and represents a great opportunity for the German healthcare system in particular. The increased use of artificial intelligence to improve service quality and the acceleration of administrative processes through increasing digitalisation will lead to a significant improvement in the healthcare system in particular. The considerable backlogs in the German healthcare system to date can be reduced in this way and the healthcare sector, with an annual volume of around EUR 500 billion, can be positively and sustainably changed. These aspects in particular will be discussed intensively by academics and practitioners at the IU International University as part of ISPC 2024. The discussion will focus on the significance and impact of new legislation such as the Digital Act (DigiG) and the Digital Care Act (DVG) as well as their applications such as electronic patient records (ePA) and electronic prescriptions (ePrescription).
