IUBH HONOURED AS A LEADING EMPLOYER FOR DIVERSITY

IUBH IS ONE OF GERMANY'S BEST ORGANISATIONS FOR WOMEN

Erfurt, 5 October 2020 - Many women in leadership roles, regular analyses of salary structures and, above all, great flexibility in working hours and location: the recently published employer study by Brigitte and Territory has identified the best organisations for women – and IUBH is one of them. "At IUBH, we have been striving for a long time to ensure equal opportunities for all university members – this applies to our students as well as our employees, of course," explains Equal Opportunities Officer  Prof. Dr. Alexandra Wuttig. "I am all the more pleased that these efforts have now also been recognised by external parties."

One key aspect of equal opportunities work at the IUBH: Balancing work and family life

What distinguishes IUBH as a good employer for women? "A special focus of our work is to ensure the compatibility of work and family life, but also to ensure equal rights for women and men," says Wuttig. "We achieve this, for example, by making home office and flexible working hours possible in many positions, even before the pandemic. Another example is that we are part of a network for the advancement of women and equal opportunities.” For instance, this year IUBH became a founding member of the corporate programme Employers for Equality, which supports companies in their diversity work. By the way, IUBH does not only promote women in its own ranks: Last year, the International University of Applied Sciences awarded a total of 100 scholarships  exclusively to women in technology-oriented distance learning programmes. A second edition of the successful scholarship programme will be decided on in the near future.
