IUBH IS THE FIRST GERMAN UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES TO BE AWARDED A QS 5 STAR RATING

OUTSTANDING RESULT CONFIRMS IUBH'S POSITIONING

Erfurt, 14 December 2020 - IUBH International University of Applied Sciences, one of the largest institutions of higher education in Germany, has become the first German University of Applied Sciences to be awarded a QS 5 Star Rating for online learning. The internationally renowned rating assesses the quality of teaching and learning in digital studies. Are students able to access lectures and course content digitally without any problems? How easily can they exchange information with lecturers and supervisors or connect with each other? In all of these categories, IU achieved top scores and a fantastic result with 99 out of 100 points. It is the first and so far the only German university of Applied Sciences to receive this award from the QS Institute, which is known for its worldwide university rankings. Accordingly, IUBH will be listed in the QS Star Ratings at https://www.topuniversities.com  starting in early 2021. The award confirms IUBH's consistent focus on digital and flexible study that adapts to students' needs.

Online study overcomes borders: New opportunities for students and universities

Digital education offers new educational and career opportunities especially for people for whom studying has not been an option so far. Today, students can choose from a wide range of offers even in remote locations in Germany and around the world. Precise standards are necessary in order to create transparency and ensure quality. "The award is an important milestone because it confirms our role as a pioneer in digital education and makes our offer internationally comparable," says Professor Florian Hummel, Prorector of IUBH. "Our students learn when and where it suits their personal requirements best - regardless of whether they live in Nigeria or in Lower Bavaria. This is made possible by the fact that we consistently emphasise digital education."

A pioneer in Digital Education

As a pioneer in Digital Education, IUBH has developed a wide-ranging online study portfolio that flexibly adapts to the needs of students. In over 200 digital study programmes on subjects such as AI, Coding, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Digital Business, IoT or the first German study programme on New Work, students are prepared for a career in the digital world. Students and professors are supported by future technologies such as hybrid learning and artificial intelligence. For example, IUBH is a pioneer in online exams, which have been successfully offered as a standard procedure for several years.
