PROFOUND CHANGE IN THE PUBLIC SERVICE

IU OFFERS THE STUDY COURSE PUBLIC MANAGEMENT FOR THE FIRST TIME AS A DISTANCE LEARNING PROGRAMME

Erfurt, 26 August 2020 - You never stop learning - this credo is especially true in professional life. In keeping with this, IU International University of Applied Sciences, Germany's largest private university for online studies, is offering the multifaceted Bachelor's degree course in Public Management for the first time as a distance learning programme. Suitable for all disciplines of the public sector, this programme offers a well-founded academic further education. The great advantage is that the course can be completed from anywhere - whether part-time or during parental leave.

The first Bachelor's programme in Public Management starts in September

The state-recognised, institutionally accredited university offers a variety of interesting distance learning programmes and is expanding its offer next September with the Bachelor of Arts in Public Management. Prof. Dr. Christian Schachtner, head of the programme, explains what makes this programme so topical: “The far-reaching changes in the public sector require a new generation of employees, with competence transfer of the field, for future-oriented and self-responsible performance of tasks. Upon completion of their studies, graduates should be empowered to take up formative positions within a project management - for middle management levels, as well as independent management positions.”

Distance learning at the IUBH - flexibility as a great advantage

Due to the individual study design as full or also partial study, the distance learning programme at the IUBH is applicable to the personal life situation and offers everyone the opportunity to further their education. In addition, a variety of practice-oriented elective modules, which make participation in actual governmental as well as non-profit projects possible, provide further flexibility.

Study with versatility: application-oriented study experiences with professors with practical experience

In the spirit of versatility, IUBH focuses on applied module design with a focus on skills in the fundamentals of law and economics, soft skills as well as sound management and IT skills. Students also have the opportunity to choose their own study focus in the 5th and 6th semester, which allows them to continue pursuing their personal interests. The necessary knowledge is imparted by lecturers from all areas of work in the public sector, both from consulting and teaching practice.
