#RETHINKING TOURISM: IUBH WORKS ON SOLUTIONS TO THE CRISIS

Erfurt, 27 July 2020 - Rethinking tourism - that is the motto of more than 200 tourism students, 12 professors of the IUBH International University of Applied Sciences as well as numerous tourism companies from all over Germany: together they are working on ideas and solutions on how the tourism industry can find new ways out of the Corona crisis. Now, the project and the associated blog "#Umdenken im Tourismus" were officially launched with a discussion round with representatives from politics, tourism and science. Valentina Kerst, State Secretary in the Thuringian Ministry of Economy, Science and Digital Society, presented the innovative project together with Prof. Dr. Peter Neumann, IUBH, Norbert Kunz, Managing Director of the German Tourism Association, Anja Neumann, Thüringer Tourismus GmbH and Marcus Geßler, restaurateur. The blog: creative concepts from case to case

Parallel to the kick-off event, the blog will be launched, which tourism students of the IUBH International University of Applied Sciences will regularly fill with articles. Based on selected case studies, creative ideas and approaches to solutions are presented on the blog in text, pictures and sound, how the tourism industry can find new ways out of the Corona crisis. "With incentives for networking and cooperation, we are making a constructive contribution from the tourism industry and academia that is freely and publicly accessible to anyone interested," is how initiator Prof. Dr. Peter Neumann explains the idea. "Anyone looking for advice, action or ideas to overcome the Corona impacts will find what they are looking for in the blog. Tourism providers can network beyond their own industry and learn from others."
